To export to Argentina it is obligatory to have the IRAM (Instituto Argentino de Normalizaciòn y Certificaciòn - or Argentine Standardization and Certification Institute) for different categories or electrical and electronic products, based on Resolution 92 of 1998. There are about 2000 categories of low-voltage devices that must meet the safety requirements issued by the IRAM standard and, for some types of merchandise, there are also energy efficiency requirements.
By means of internal audits of the company management system and the manufacturing phases, ECO Certificazioni verifies the conformity with the standards of the IRAM Certification. A manufacturer who has obtained IRAM certification may extend the rights to use it to Argentine distributors, with a single authorisation without having to conduct further tests; Resolution 92/98 requires that product bears the recognised seal of conformity, in certain cases together with the trademark of the accredited certifying Agency that tested the product and analysed the documentation.
RED 2014/53/EU Directive
“The RED Directive (Radio Equipment Directive) 2014/53/EU, which replaced the R&TTE Directive, has been applicable since 13 June 2016 to regulate radio apparatus with a view to applying the CE mark. Radio devices in conformity with the essential requirements of this Directive can be marketed freely within the European Union.
The RED 2014/53/EU Directive has been applicable since 13 June 2016 and obligatory since 13 June 2017. It substituted the R&TTE Directive (which is no longer applicable).
One of the most significant changes introduced by the RED Directive is certainly the change in the field of application (domestic, commercial, medical, industrial, means of transport), which includes and excludes specific types of product compared to the previous R&TTE:
ECO Certificazioni offers conformity assessment activities for radio products and telecommunications apparatus pursuant to the RED Directive, through a vast range of tests: from tests on electric safety and human exposure to electromagnetic fields, to electromagnetic compatibility tests (EMC) and verification of the radio spectrum.
